Hi! I’m Zach Rodgers, the artist behind Poisoned Paint Illustrations. I’m 32, based in the United States, and hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Illustration from the Academy of Art University. These days, I specialize in digital and graphic art using tools like Photoshop and Canva.I draw inspiration from the natural world, the forms of life, and the fantasy universes I love—such as Lord of the Ringsâ„¢, Dungeons & Dragonsâ„¢, and World of Warcraftâ„¢. While fantasy is a major influence, I’m always exploring new creative sparks to bring fresh ideas to life.Due to hand-health issues which prevent me from doing full-term drawing to finished painting, I’ve shifted to offering A.I. mash-up projects. In this process, I heavily edit, paint over and customize A.I.-generated work into unique pieces, using A.I. as another tool in my artist's arsenal. These projects are transparent, with before-and-after comparisons and clear acknowledgment of mixed-media A.I. to the client. In addition, I've also had a focus on graphic work such as logos, business cards, posters, banners, and more, whether for businesses, roleplaying games, or personal projects. I also offer photo touch-ups and restorations, such as fixing A.I.-rendered images, repairing old photos, or adding color to black-and-white pictures—the possibilities are endless.Feel free to browse my gallery and reach out with any questions or project ideas. You can contact me at [email protected], or my Discord @poisonedpaint.

Communication

All initial inquiries and ongoing communication will be handled via email at [email protected] or Discord at poisonedpaint, with Discord being strongly preferred.I strive to respond within 1–3 business days or sooner. Collaboration is key to my process, so I involve clients during ideation and revisions to ensure the final product meets your vision. If communication becomes difficult, I may not be the right artist for your project.

Details Matter

To deliver the best results, I need detailed information about your project upfront, including its purpose (e.g., personal use, business branding), preferred colors, themes, styles, and any reference materials like logos or text. If insufficient details are provided or if you’re unsure of what you want, I may decline or terminate the project. My role is to bring YOUR vision to life, not to guess it. :)

My Right to Decline

I reserve the right to decline any project(s) for any reason, including projects that fall outside my expertise, are inappropriate, or do not align with my professional standards.

General Availability

Commissions are handled on a first-come, first-served basis, and my availability can be limited due to carpal tunnel. While I’m always happy to discuss potential projects, please understand if I decline due to physical limitations or workload.

Collaboration Process

Collaboration is central to my workflow. Your timely feedback, especially during concept and revision phases, is essential. If I cannot reach you for extended periods, I may pause or end work on your commission until communication resumes. If it does not, I will be terminating the project after a significant time period has passed.

*Down-Payments will not be refunded if a significant amount of work has been made, even in the event of the client ceasing communication.

Non-Refundable 50% Down-Payment & Final Balance Payment

A 50% non-refundable deposit of the agreed base commission price is required before any work begins. This is standard practice within the art commission world. Full payment is expected upon completion of the commission. For more details, please refer to the Pricing & Payment and Refunds & Cancellations pages.

Pricing & Payment Methods

Here, you’ll find my pricing list for various services and the accepted payment methods. I strive to price my work fairly, reflecting the effort and dedication I put into each commission. Creating art is both challenging and my livelihood, so I aim to strike a balance—neither overpricing nor undervaluing my work.As your artist, I promise to maintain transparency regarding any additional costs, such as major revision fees or time-based charges, that might impact your budget unexpectedly. My first question to you as my client will always be: "What is your budget?"

My Current Payment Methods

I will not be accepting other methods of payment at this time. All prices are calculated with USD.

Prices Explanations & Estimations

Refunds Policy & Commission Process – For detailed information on these topics, please visit these pages.

Pricing & Expectations

The prices listed below serve as base estimates. Costs may vary depending on the complexity and scope of your project—more intricate details or additional work will require extra time and may increase the total price. I will always communicate these adjustments clearly and transparently.

For example (these are not exhaustive):

  • Multiple sizes: Posters or flyers in different sizes (e.g., A3, A4) may incur additional fees.

  • Multi-page projects: Brochures or menus with multiple pages are priced higher than single-page designs.

  • Editable files: Source files can be provided for an additional fee, depending on the project type.

Additional Services

  • Revisions: Each commission includes 2 free major revisions, such as design overhauls, significant color changes, or added details. Once the early draft is approved, any additional major changes will incur a fee of $15–$20 per change, depending on the time and complexity required. For instance, multiple major changes requested after draft approval will be charged individually based on their scope and difficulty. If the project is deemed complete and final delivery is ready, any full design changes will be treated as a new project, incurring the base cost of the requested work and the prior project will not be eligible for a refund.

  • Image Touch-Ups & Photo Restoration/Colorization: I can correct blemishes, fix AI-generated anomalies (like extra fingers), or create a hand-painted look through detailed edits. These can be images that you have yourself generated, or have me generate them. The generative A.I. and editing fees will still apply. You can give me old photos to restore or colorize as well, which have their own prices below.

A.I. Generative Images & Editing - Notes

If requesting AI-generated images with edits, both project costs will apply.

  • Raw Thumbnail Generations: Each generation includes 4 raw, unedited thumbnails for $5. You decide how many generations you’d like, and the total cost is calculated based on your request.

  • Upscaled Images: Select any thumbnail(s) to be upscaled for $20 per image.

  • Minimal Editing (e.g., fixing anomalies, minor touch-ups, eye fixes, etc): $30–$50 per image.

  • Major Editing (e.g., combining elements from different images, extensive blending, or major color changes, etc.): $150–$300 per image, depending on complexity.

To ensure a smooth process and avoid unexpected costs, it’s essential to have a clear vision for your project. This will help me bring your ideas to life efficiently and accurately. Please Note: I can provide digital designs only and I am unable to print or ship items such as business cards or physical materials.

Refunds & Cancellations Policy

The Refund & Cancellations Policy outlines the circumstances under which refunds may or may not be issued for my commissioned work. By commissioning me, you agree to the terms detailed below.

1. Non-Refundable Deposits

  • All commissions require a 50% non-refundable deposit to secure your slot and begin the project.

  • This deposit compensates for the time spent on communication, planning, and creating initial drafts.

2. Partial Refunds

Partial refunds may be issued in the following situations:

  • If the client cancels the project after work has begun but before it is completed, a refund may be issued for the portion of the project not yet completed. The refund amount will depend on the time and effort already invested.

  • If significant delays occur without proper communication from me, a partial refund may be offered depending on the impact of the delay.

3. Full Refunds & Cancellation

A full refund, including the deposit, will only be issued under the following circumstances:

  • I am unable to complete the project due to unforeseen personal circumstances or emergencies.

  • The project has not been started, and the client decides to cancel before any work begins.

4. No Refunds

Refunds will NOT be issued under the following circumstances:

  • Once the final files are delivered and approved, no refunds will be provided.

  • If the client decides they no longer want the artwork after work has begun, the deposit and fees for completed work are non-refundable.

  • If the client uses all allotted revisions and remains unsatisfied, additional revisions may be purchased, but refunds will not be issued for the work that has been done.

  • If the client fails to provide necessary feedback or materials in a timely manner, causing delays, refunds will not be issued.

5. Complete Re-Designs

If the client requests sweeping changes or a complete redesign after the project is nearly completed or delivered (e.g., wanting to start over entirely), the client must pay the full base price for the additional project work. This will NOT qualify for a refund of the original project.

6. Disputes and Communication

  • If there are any concerns or dissatisfaction with the process or final product, I encourage my clients to communicate with me directly. I will do my best to address concerns through revisions or other solutions if absolutely necessary and if it is within my power to do so.
